The Adventures of Nana & Nunu

Nana and Nunu are sisters.

Nana is 4 and Nunu is 3.

They live in America with their Papa and Mama.

One day Papa came home and said they were all going on a long trip. They were going to Malaysia.

Nana and Nunu were very happy.

Malaysia is where their grandparents and cousins lived. They would be seeing Tata, Apayee, Nanny, all their uncles, aunts and cousins.

It was a long flight to Malaysia. Nana and Nunu were very tired.

Mama said, “Be patient. We’ll be there soon.” It was a 16-hour flight from America to Malaysia.

At last they landed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

The girls, Papa and Mama got into a taxi.

Soon they were at Uncle Siva’s house.

The door was opened and there stood Tata and Apayee. Nana and Nunu ran out to hug their grandparents.

Everyone was very happy to see the girls ... and their parents too.

It had been one year since their Malaysian relatives had seen them.

Nana and Nunu were so excited to see everyone. They ran into Uncle Siva's house and right up the stairs.

Tata frowned and Apayee gasped!

Nana and Nunu stopped halfway up the stairs and looked at the grandparents. What had they done wrong?

"Nana! Nunu! Come back here!" screamed Mama.

"What's wrong, Mama?" asked Nana. Nunu just looked at Mama and Papa and blinked.

"This is Malaysia," said Papa.

"In Malaysia we take off our shoes at the door before entering the house," he explained.

"But what if your toes get cold?" asked Nana.

Mama smiled. "Your toes won't get cold in Malaysia. It's too warm here," she said.

Papa and Mama then helped Nana and Nunu to remove their shoes.

Just as the girls had their shoes off and ran back into the house, Uncle Siva came down the stairs.

Nana and Nunu ran to him and Uncle Siva grabbed them lovingly in his arms.

All was well with Nana and Nunu again.
